Last minute rush as usual for the Christmas Greetings

It has been a busy second half to the year.

Claire is now back at work 60% following a sabbatical that ended back in July.  This means that life is again pretty hectic juggling everything.

Claes is still working hard with no signs of letting up.

The kids are both doing well and always extremely busy with their activities.

Oliver (10) is now in 4th (last year) primary school and will swap to a new school next summer.  He is still a big sports fan and fills his week with either football or ice-hockey trainings and matches.  Like he didn’t have enough to keep him busy this autumn he took up guitar and is making good progress.  We are quite relieved we talked him out of drums or trumpet as our nerves may not have been able to cope with the practice.  In the time he has free he does still squeeze in going to scouts and of course playing with his mates during every free hour (which has managed to put him in accident and emergency twice this summer with an eye injury then a broken toe)!

Amelia turned 6 in July and celebrated with a pirate party for her mates. We all got into the spirit (including grandparents) and had a great fun day.

She is  in her last year of kindergarten and in August will start primary school.  She should keep them all on their toes, as she is pretty much the boss around the house.  Amelias activities have also really taken off this year.  In addition to continuing her swimming lessons (definitely a crawl and backstroke swimmer), she started with gymnastics in the summer.

Not sure if we have a future Olga Corbut or Nadia Comăneci In the making yet… time will tell.  But she keeps asking if she can wear the leotards for school /parties!

As usual we had some good holidays this year.   We all managed to get  in quite a bit of skiing  in the winter, and enjoyed a great  ski holiday in Mürren, where Oliver hit the black runs and fun park, whilst Amelia perfected wild crash outs! This year was the first year that we could pretty much all ski together most terrain.

In the summer we had an excellent week in the Berner Oberland on lake Brienz at the same camp site we visited In 2010.  However this year Claes refused the tent and we booked  a wooden chalet.  This was excellent fun and when we had 2 massive storms we were very glad not to be in a tiny tent.

October as usual we had our big 2 week trip to Naples Florida. This was, like every year just pure relaxation with lots of beach, pool and good food.

In addition we had various trips back to England and Sweden.

So with the usual tradition we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Christmas greetings 2011
